Why ceramic

Sharper for longer, kinder to your food

No browning, no metal taste

The non reactive ceramic blade never transfers odors, flavors or metallic tastes. Lettuce stays green, apples stay white, and every ingredient keeps its natural flavor and nutrients.

Sharp for years, not weeks

Ceramic is the second hardest material after diamond. These blades hold their razor edge far longer than steel, so sharpening becomes a rare event instead of a weekend chore.

Light in the hand

Roughly half the weight of a steel knife, with an ergonomic handle shaped for long prep sessions. Less hand fatigue whether you are slicing one tomato or prepping for the week.

Kind to the planet

Rust proof blades, gift boxes made from natural and recyclable materials, and AVA certification: free of animal sourced ingredients and processing.

Our story

A chef's answer to a healthier cut

VegItPro was founded in the USA in 1987 by Chef Adam Scott: health activist, vegan and environmentalist. After many trials he designed his first eco friendly vegetable cleaver in a gift box of natural, recyclable materials, and it quickly became a top ranking knife in its category. Today the family has grown into a full range of ceramic kitchen knives, AVA recommended and free of animal sourced ingredients and processing.

It is hard to find a nice, sharp knife nowadays. Lightweight, rust proof, and it came in a very elegant gift box. A sharp, non rusted knife is an absolute must for me.

Care and safety tips

Cut on wood

Use a wooden cutting board for vegetables and fruit. It protects the ceramic edge from chips.

Rinse, dry, sheath

Our knives have passed the approved dishwasher test, but a quick rinse and a cloth dry is kinder. Store the knife in its included protective sheath when not in use.

Slice, do not pry

Made for cutting and slicing most vegetables and fruits. Not for carving, prying, boning, or hard and frozen foods.

Sharpening

Ceramic is the second hardest material after diamonds and needs far less sharpening than metal. When it does, use a dedicated ceramic sharpener, or contact us and we will recommend a service.
